Now, I know I said I made all this side of the album fully in the box (computer), but there are a couple of exceptions. This track features the phenomenally funky flute of Ross Harris, AKA Biscuit. I had long heard rumours of an insanely dope flute player living locally, but despite having the odd Facebook interaction over a number of years with Ross, mainly commenting on my Carrot Carving exploits (see The Daily Carrot on Facebook), I was totally unaware that he was in fact said flautist. It was only after I started posting stuff on YouTube that Ross messaged me asking if I’d ever consider using live flute on a track. That was a little like asking ???, as flute has to be my favourite instrument. We wasted no time and arranged to meet up and have a li’l studio sesh. 

I didn’t really have anything planned and just ended up playing a bunch of beats and ideas to Biscuit, this track being one of them. I’d already played a basic midi flute melody on this track, but Biscuit obviously felt he could add an extra dimension. Man, was he right. We laid down just four tracks of flute, two tracks concentrating on getting the melody spot on and two tracks going full-on Jethro Tull! I then spent days of joyous editing, chopping the best bits of flute and arranging them to the beat. Not content with just the flute, I also introduced a midi brass band for the second half of the composition. All in all, this is probably my favourite track on the album
